Barclays Local Tennis Leagues are open to adults 18+, who are interested in meeting players of a similar standard to play fun tennis matches. Scoring formats are flexible to suit your ability and schedule. The sign-up process will help us determine your ability, to ensure we match you with other beginners.

How to express an interest

3. Complete a questionnaire to check you meet the criteria for the beginner league
4. Search and choose Woking Park Beginner League
5. Submit your expression of interest
6. We will be in touch when we have matched you with other beginners at your park

Beginner LTL Pilot FAQs
Why would I sign up to a beginner league and not the regular Local Tennis League?
- Guaranteed to play other beginners like you
- More local, less travel, play with others at your park site
- More flexible scoring format for those new to competing
- Less commitment, matches played over a few weeks, and sign-up price reflects this
How do you know I am a beginner, and you will match me with other beginners?
- Upon creating a free LTA account, you will be asked to complete a questionnaire which will
give you an ITF World Tennis Number. If yours sits between 35-40 (i.e. beginner level), you
can join a beginner league
Once I express an interest, when will the league start?
- As soon as we have c15 local beginners who have expressed an interest in your local
league, you will be emailed with the sign-up link and league start date.
I already play in a Local Tennis League, can I join this beginner league as well?
- Yes, as long as you meet the beginner ITF World Tennis Number level of 35-40
Why have you introduced a beginner league at my park?
- We want to test whether a more local, venue level league where beginners are guaranteed
to play against other beginners helps to engage more park players into recreational
competition
