The easing of the lockdown rules mean that we can once again play tennis. However, there are still a number of restrictions and the Tennis Committee have been working hard to ensure that we can play safely and comply with the government regulations and LTA guidance.
Please read the below as by booking a court you are agreeing to abide by the following restrictions:
- Courts MUST be booked via www.waterortontc.org.uk
- Courts will be open for play from Tuesday 19th May 2020, 8am. Courts MUST be booked online. PLEASE MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE BOOKING LENGTH AS BOOKINGS WILL DEFAULT TO 15 MINUTES IN DURATION. PLEASE AMEND THIS TO 60 MINUTES BEFORE CONFIRMING YOUR BOOKING.
- Please ensure you read the attached document from the LTA headed “Guidance for Tennis Players”.
- There will be NO access to the clubhouse or toilets. Please DO NOT use any benches and do not wait on the premises. Please play and leave as quick as possible.
- You will need to bring your own equipment, including tennis balls to use
- No more than two players at a time per court are allowed (other than where players are from the same household in which case four people can play on the same court).
- Social distancing MUST be observed at all times.
- Juniors aged 12 years and under, MUST be supervised by an adult at all times or they will not be allowed to play.
- On entering and leaving the courts, please ensure you maintain social distancing requirements. We have blocked out 15 minutes after every hour booking so players can leave the premises safely.
- It is recommended that you bring your own tennis balls to serve with unless you are playing with members from your own household, and only handle the tennis balls you have brought with you. It is also recommended you bring hand sanitiser with you to use when required.
- If you book a court and no longer wish to use it please cancel it so someone else can book it.
- You can book a court 7 days in advance
- We will only have one court in use whilst restrictions are slowly eased so please do book sensibly to allow others to play. We will monitor court usage and review if we need to limit the amount of courts members can book in a 7 day period.
- If you have not booked a court, you cannot play.
- Please take all rubbish home with you. The bins will not be emptied so we do not want rubbish left on site.
The Tennis Committee thanks you for your patience and co-operation in abiding with these rules. It is only by doing so that we will be able to keep the courts open
Failure to adhere to the rules by any members will result in your membership been terminated.
