We are looking for players to compete in our ladies' teams, all skill levels are welcome!
Sheffield-based Graves Tennis Club takes great pride in being a welcoming and friendly club with our club sessions and tournaments being open to all our members regardless of age, ability or gender. Prospective members are welcome to come along and join us for a game during either the Saturday or Tuesday Social or the Match Practice before deciding to join. Please get in touch with us before turining up so we can be be sure someone is looking out for you.
N.B There is a charge for all our indoor sessions to cover the cost of the courts.
Saturday Social Tennis - From the beginning of April through to the end of September 14:00 to 17:00 you'll find members on the outdoor courts enjoying some social tennis. From October onwards the sessions continue as we move indoors.
Monday Match Practice - A structured team practice 18:00 to 21:00 during the summer where we use the outdoor courts. From October the session times change to 20:00 to 22:00 as we move indoors.
Tuesday Social – The Tuesday social tennis runs from 17:00 to 22:00 on the outdoor courts. these sessions usually run through to the end of October, though a hardy few continue to attend through the winter months.
Tuesday/Thursday indoor tennis – From early October to mid March we have an indoor block booking on Tuesday and Thursday evenings, organised on a rota basis these are member only sessions. We have a court on Tuesday 19:00 to 21:00 and Thursday 20:00 to 22:00.
Summer Tournament – Bringing our members together our tournaments are suitable for all tennis abilities and allow us to meet on a more social basis. The summer tournament is usually held on a Sunday in June on the outdoor courts and includes a BBQ.
Winter Tournament – Held soon after Christmas on the indoor courts, everyone brings something for the buffet. As with the Summer tournament is suitable for all abilities.
Knockouts - We have ladies' and men's open knockout singles and doubles plus a mixed handicap knockout doubles competition.
Match Play – We regularly enter teams in the Summer and Winter Sheffield and District Leagues - with opportunities for mens, ladies and mixed competitive play.
