Members are asked to read this information on joining the club and annually thereafter, and to follow the Safeguarding processes when attending the club and reporting Safeguarding concerns.

Safeguarding Policy Statement for Sodbury Tennis Club

Sodbury Tennis Club is committed to prioritising the well-being of all children and adults at risk, promoting safeguarding in our club at all times, including all programmes and events we run. The club strives to minimise risk, deliver a positive tennis experience for everyone and respond appropriately to all safeguarding concerns/disclosures. See the policies section, the reporting concerns flow chart and the welfare officer poster for further information.

Welfare Officer:

 Annie Flook is the Welfare Officer. She is a club member and is a retired teacher. 

When necessary,  the Deputy Welfare Officer, Chris Eldridge, provides support.. Chris is a club member,  a PE teacher and is also Mental Health First Aid trained.   They can be contacted about safeguarding concerns which will be dealt with confidentially via sodburytenniswelfare@outlook.com

Phone number should be included in emails to the Welfare Officers for a call back.

How to Raise a Concern

If a child or an adult at risk is in immediate danger or risk of harm, the police should be contacted by calling 999. Where a child or an adult at risk is not in immediate danger, any concerns about their well-being should be made without delay to:

  • Sodbury Tennis Club Welfare Officers,   Annie Flook or Chris Eldridge sodburytenniswelfare@outlook.com
  • Police if in immediate danger or risk of harm  Call 999
