Nicol is a level 3 licensed tennis coach and looks to get the full potential from players and ensuring they are enjoying themselves in the process.

He has played competitive tennis since he was eight representing East of Scotland on several occasions where he travelled to Turkey as part of the Fife Olympiad team. Currently he plays in for Aberdour Men's first team in Division 2 of the East of Scotland leagues. After leaving school he completed a Tennis apprenticeship with tennis Scotland based at David Lloyd Edinburgh. This provided him with a unique insight into different coaching styles and techniques, as well as promoting tennis in the community.  In addition, Nicol has also delivered Tennis leadership sessions for teenagers as part of The Prince's Trust. He coaches at Aberdour, Kinghorn and Kirkcaldy Tennis clubs where he runs classes for both adults and juniors.
