A Game Academy - Nichola Smith

High quality coaching for all ages and abilities, lead by Level 3 Head Coach and 2024 LTA Development Coach of the Year, Nic Smith.

Nic was previously a Secondary PE Teacher for 19 years so has a wealth of experience in teaching, learning and behaviour management. Experienced in delivering both mainstream sessions and fully Inclusive and Diverse sessions, she also currently delivers in mainstream schools, SEN provision, behavioural units and young offenders secure units. Alongside this, delivers seated and walking tennis to those with limited mobility or long term illness, including Parkinson's and Dementia.

She has co-written a programme called REBOUND, a fully Inclusive and Diverse plan with 4 projects within this programme:

• U Turn
• Active Plus
• Enrichment Coaching

There is nothing she will say no to, her main aim is to get everyone with a racket in their hand in some way and enjoying it with a smile on their face!

Nic and her team of coaches, Les Wellens (Level 3) and Lee Wilkinson (Level 2) along with LTA Assistants Peter Millar and Matt Forber, are fully accredited, first aid trained and DBS checked. Their promise is to make tennis fun on court at all times and allow every child to express themselves in a way that is comfortable to them! Raising skill levels, knowledge and understanding of the game as well as self confidence and communication levels are key priorities for our highly motivated coaching team.
