Frequently asked questions
When are the courts open?
The tennis courts will be open 9am-8pm (base hours). At times, courts may be booked out for community groups and programmes, our booking system will advise you of availability for open sessions.
Am I entitled to a concessionary rate?
There are no concessionary rates for court bookings.
Do I need to be a resident of Midlothian to play?
No, everyone is welcome to book and play on our courts.
I have booked my court, what happens now?
Once you have booked your court, you will receive a booking confirmation email, which is sent to the email you used to make the booking. Your booking confirmation will include a four-digit gate code which you can then enter on the gate keypad upon arrival at the courts.
I haven't received my confirmation email, what should I do now?
Please check your junk folder of the email account you used to sign up to ClubSpark and to make your booking. Alternatively, you can log into your ClubSpark account where you can see the details of your booking, along with your gate access code.
Can I make a booking for coaching purposes?
Only coaches authorised and appointed by Midlothian Council can use our courts to deliver coaching activities. Our courts are for pay and play purposes.
Can I bring a group?
There is a maximum of 4 people per booking, per court. No other activities are permitted.
Are there any toilets and changing facitlities on site?
No, there are no toilets or changing facilities available at any of our courts.
Is first-aid available at any of our courts?
No, any first aid needs are the responsibility of court users.
Is there car parking on site?
We encourage active travel and the use of our public transport network. Car parking information is below, please ensure you park considerately.
Abbeylands - there are limited parking spaces at the Pavilion car park. Alternatively, there is a variety of on street parking surrounding the tennis courts.
Beeslack - there are car parking spaces to the rear of the high school.
King's Park - there is a variety of on street parking surrounding King's Park.
What is your cancellation policy, can I cancel my court?
If you paid for your activity at the time of booking you will be able to modify your booking or request a refund up to 24hrs prior to the booking start time. This should be done through your ClubSpark account. Cancellations made within 24 hours of the booking commencing will not be eligible for a refund or transfer. No cash refunds will be given. A refund will be applied to the card used at the time of booking; this can take up to 10 working days to refund onto the card.
What do I do if I see damage to the courts or anti-social behaviour?
If you notice our courts are damaged or unsafe, please visit our contact us page to report. If you witness anti-social behaviour on the courts and feel unsafe, please contact the police on 101 or 999 in the case of an emergency.
