Psychological strategies for Juniors implemented by tennis coaches

'Psychological strategies' is a fancy way of saying...

'Ways to help manage mental and physical aspects that improve your game.'

Mental: Positive self-talk or visualization techniques such as; Picturing the path of the ball before you serve. Telling yourself you are are going to serve there.

Physical: This can be as simple as repetition of a stroke or movement.

Why Junior tennis?

Often parents expose their kids to different sports to see what they do and don't like.

Tennis may be one of several sports they try. If a coach can help a Junior have a positive fun experience, regardless of their ability the child is more likely to continue participating.

If they have an early negative experience they will move onto a different sport or give up on sport.

Age and ability does NOT matter

Psychological strategies can be used to in-still confidence and help them achieve realistic goals during the lesson or term.

Better Coaching

= Happier more engaged Juniors

= Enjoy tennis for longer...or even life!
