Around 50 members and invited guests saw the tennis courts being formally re-opened on 22nd September by Scott Martin, Chair of Tennis Scotland.
Following trees removal by local company Craig Nicoll Tmber, the main work to install new floodlighting and re-surface the courts was completed by Hunter Construction in autumn 2017. However remedial work was needed in 2018 to address court 1 drainage problems, before Sports lining Services painted the courts in eye-catching Wimbledon purple and green. The September ceremony marked the final stage in the £170,000 project, which wouldn't have been possible without major grants from sportscotland, Tennis Scotland and the WREN and EB Scotland landfill community trusts. Local architect Gerry Robb provide excellent pro bono support throughout . Many other smaller grants, donations and fund raising activities were critical to being able to afford the fantastic facilities the club now has. A huge thanks to all involved.
