Club Etiquette

The Acle Tennis Club committee tries to accommodate all members’ requirements when playing at the club. In order to do so, every club member is asked to abide by certain rules of etiquette so that everyone obtains maximum benefit from membership of the Club.

With this in mind, we would like to point out the following to all members:

  • When playing, if you and/or your partner or opponent/s have to walk behind another game or match that is being played, please remember not to cross during play but wait until there is a break e.g. when a point is won or lost or a game finishes, as this can be a distraction to players.
  • When matches are in progress, please try to keep the off-court noise to a minimum.
  • Please remember that for safety reasons, glasses or cups should not be taken on court. When leaving the court please take all belongings, balls and litter away with you or place litter in the bins provided by the Pavilion and try to recycle as much as possible.
  • Any personal belongings found will be placed in the lost property box under the table in the clubhouse for one month and if not claimed will then be donated to charity.
  • If you have used any of the cups or glasses in the clubhouse, please ensure they are washed, dried and put away before you leave.
  • Kindly ensure that you leave the Club toilets in a clean and tidy state for the benefit of all members and if you are last to leave the Club, please make sure the toilet doors are properly closed.
