Treasurer's Report
This is my first year as ADTL Treasurer.
I would like to thank Anne for her information / "wise words" about the workings of the league finances and the committee for their support. It has been an interesting year and I will be introducing minor changes that will hopefully improve the financial tracking.
I have created a savings account so that interest is paid on surplus funds and I will therefore need to submit a yearly tax form and pay tax.
Cash balance is currently £15,003 (2023/24 £13,522) Yearly profit £617 (after estimated LTA fees removed) (2023 profit £681).
- With the surplus of funds, the committee voted to make a £500 donation to an LTA supported charity called HACRO. This charity uses, amongst other things, tennis to rehabilitate ex-offenders, the details of which will be described on the ADTL Website.
- We have requested the repayment of a £500 grant paid in 2022/23 since the planned building work has still not been completed (this is not in the yearly profit figure).
We are chasing the LTA for invoices for the league configuration fees due in 2024/25 (last invoices received Sept 2024) and potentially the winter 2024 fees.
- These estimated costs have been accrued in the accounts.
- We have contacted the LTA numerous times about the 2022 LTA league configuration fees not yet invoiced without response. I am recommending that we cancel the amount accrued if we are not invoiced by the end of the year.
Presentation evening was again held at Ellesborough Golf Club, resulting in a net loss of £869 ( 2024: Loss £275, 2023 Loss:£1,334).
- I will be investigating how to reduce the loss in future years.
The ADTL Committee has accumulated surplus funds and wishes to reinvest these into the local tennis community. We are proposing a new grant scheme which aims to support affiliated clubs in improving facilities, enhancing participation, and promoting the growth of tennis within the ADTL area. More details of this scheme will be provided to the clubs.
