LTA SOFTWARE

Well done to all the captains from last season for navigating the LTA's new software. For all the new captains: welcome to captaincy!

As Divisional Secretaries, we are here to help you with anything you need. Hopefully our website covers everything you need: we're more than happy to take feedback on anything that can help improve things for you. Please take the time to have a good look around the website:

In particular the ADTL RULES and the CAPTAINS GUIDE which, hopefully, will cover all your questions.

There are still the following LTA teething problems; who knows whether they will ever get resolved!

Adding a note: Please see the captains guide. This is done under "Edit Announcement".

Annoyingly a note cannot be added after the result is entered. So if you need to add a note regarding injury/ walkover etc, you need to do it before. If, during entering the score, you find an unknown player, you can ask your Fixtures Secretary (LTA Club Contact), to add the note for you.

Retired Status: For example when a player is injured during the match. This is currently not working on the site. Please see the captains guide for current procedure. We need to know if there is a retirement and you will need to add a note to explain what happened.

Abandoned Matches: For example if the match doesn't finish due to weather or lights going out. This is also not working properly. Please see the captains guide for current procedure. Again, we need to know if a match was unfinished and you will need to add a note to explain what happened.

Postponed Status: This is a bit of a pain but is very necessary. You will need to press SAVE twice! Please make sure you have read the captains guide to find the procedure.

CAPTAINS REMINDERS

Checking a Match: There is no longer an option to confirm a match but it is important that the opposition captain checks the result. This is the only way mistakes will be found which could affect your results. Several were found over the summer and I'm sure others were never picked up!

Eligibility of Players: All players should be affiliated to your club before they play in a match. You can add players to your team list now and then you will be able to check that they are coming up. Please see the captains guide for more details.

Entering Results: This must be done within 72 hours please. If you know that you will not be able to because of holiday, please ask your Fixtures Secretary to do this for you, or the opposition captain.

Clubs with more than one team in the same division: Please ensure you have read rules 17 & 24  ADTL RULES

Player Eligibility: Please ensure you have read all the rules regarding affiliation and playing up/ down. It is the captains responsibility to know and follow the rules. We would suggest that all team players are also aware of these.  Please see Player Eligibility Rules.

Junior Players: The ADTL does not have a minimum age rule. However there are strict LTA requirements for clubs. Please see the link on our website:

FRIENDLY MATCHES

We have a group of clubs from our league who take part in "Friendlies". These are aimed at non team players who would like to experience playing at other clubs against players of a similar standard. The matches are organised on an ad-hoc basis based on people's availability and, although they follow a "match format" there is no competitive league; it's just for fun. Tea and cake usually follows!
