Junior & Adult Coaching Opportunities

Albany's coaching programme is led by our LTA Club Coaches, Max Stokoe & Sean Drewry.

The coaching programme is supported from time to time by a number of other coaches and assistants and we are very grateful to them all for the time and effort that they invest in our young players. Neri Gricevicius, Katsuyo Yamazaki & Gareth Roome have recently just completed their Level 2 qualification. If you would like to complete your Level 1 coaching course on the 20/21 February,  please see link below:

Junior Coaching

The club runs many coaching sessions each week throughout the year during school term-time for Mini and Junior tennis players. In addition, there are coaching clinics held during the school holidays and termly junior matchplay events.

For beginner junior players, or 'tots tennis' we would encourage you come and try one of our Saturday sessions. The club allow each junior to try 3 sessions free of charge, before having to commit to a club membership.

  • Saturday 11am-Midday                  Mini Tennis (sponge ball) aimed at 4-6 year olds beginners
  • Saturday Midday-1pm                     Mini Tennis (sponge ball) aimed at 6-9 year old improvers
  • Saturday 1pm-2pm                            Mini Tennis (Red ball) aimed at 9-12 year olds beginners

**Invitations are then given to junior players who have the ability and attitude to join our midweek coaching programme.  The midweek junior coaching programme caters for all ages, 6-18, and is delivered by our Level 2 & 3 coaches.

**Sean and Max also look to deliver regular small group 3 player:1 coach training sessions when time is available. Whatsapp groups are set up for all midweek coaching, with all communication feeds going through there.

Adult Coaching

  • Tuesday 630-8pm                                  Adult Club evening (aimed at beginner/intermediate players)
  • Wednesday 1030am-1230pm       Adult Club morning (aimed at beginner/intermediate players)
  • Sunday 2-4pm                                          Adult Club afternoon (aimed at intermediate/advanced players)

There are further plans to introduce a 'new starters' introduction to tennis course. More info coming soon. This will be ideal for anyone wanting to play tennis for the first time.

**Please discuss directly with Sean or Max if you are interested in private coaching.
