We’ve had 2 of our junior girls playing in UK tournaments last weekend: Sarah Long (16) won the Women’s G4 singles at Ivybridge in Devon, winning all her 3 matches in straight sets 1st match 4/2 4/0, 2nd match – two tie-breaks 4/3(2) 4/3 (7) and 4/1 4/3(4) in the final. Meanwhile Ava Austerberry (14) played in her 1st UK 16 & under tournament at Holcombe Brook Tennis Club in Bury. She reached the qtr. Final. However, she went on to the consolation Final 4/0 4/1. Ava will be away again this weekend playing in another U16 event in Cheadle. Well done to both girls who have to play UK tournaments now to improve their ranking which means a lot of travelling for Ava whilst Sarah is at school in the UK.
