Competition

Finals Weekend

After an exciting week of competition at the club, this weekend sees the finals of the Island Championships held at Albany.

We have had to dial down the event at little this year because of COVID risks and the latest guidance from the Government.

However, I hope that many of you will be able to watch and enjoy some fantastic tennis at the club.

Matches are scheduled to start at 10:00 on Saturday and 12:00 on Sunday.

We will not have a BBQ this year but hot dogs will be available from the kitchen together with strawberry's and cream in the afternoon.

Drinks, cakes and snacks will be available throughout.

To keep everyone safe, please stick to the following COVID rules when at the club:

  • Please only use the clubhouse for the toilet, to get some food or to go up to the balcony
  • Max 5 visitors are allowed in the lobby area at any one time
  • Masks are strongly encouraged inside and in crowed spaces
  • Please keep sensible 1m+ social distancing outside and avoid contact with others
  • Use the available hand gels often
  • The balcony's will be open, but with 1m+ social distancing.

If the indoor court is being used, the following applies:

  • No spectators are allowed on the court
  • Double doors will be open, but no encroachment on court please
  • 2 supporters per player allowed to watch from the indoor balcony - again 1m+ social distancing and masks recommended

A huge thank you to everyone who has helped this week. It should be a fantastic weekend and I hope to see you there.
