At last everything is in full swing at the club – league matches, club sessions, adult and junior coaching and social events for the coming months being arranged. So the dates for your diary are September 25th – Annual Quiz Night – form your team, enter them with Kirsten Hall, our social secretary (at least 2 teams have already entered) and order your suppers – fish and chips £10 and sausage and chips £8, including reception drink. Next Tuesday Club Night American tournament is September 29th from 7pm. Enter by no later 6pm on the night but earlier if possible – tel 861497, 498597 or e-mail: albanytennispr@manx.net . Despite the bad weather Tuesday’s event went ahead, playing Champions tie-breaks in the indoor court, with a vocal audience of players cheering winning shots. Great fun was had by all with no one feeling any pressure to win. It’s draw for partners and the winners were Neri Gricevious and Ray Roberts with Sarah Long and new member Colin Beaven r/up. Neri and Ray received boxes of Thornton’s chocolates and everyone enjoyed refreshments provided.

We have now booked John Morrison for a race Night – 27 November. More details later but we all know John makes this a fun evening and it is also a good fund-raiser.

JUNIORS – don’t forget to get your entry in for the IOM Junior Closed Championships by 8pm this Saturday 29th August. We have a good group of junior and mini tennis members and now is the time to start competing.

The club has a large quantity of used tennis balls, suitable for dogs, to sell at bag of 20 for £5. Contact Jan – 862144 or Pat 861497

Reminder that all junior coaching will re-start from the Saturday following the return to school.
