Following the announcement today of the first confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection in the Isle of Man the Government has strengthened its advice and the measures it is taking to help protect the community.
In the light of this Members are advised of the following matters and requested to take all reasonable precautions to safeguard the welfare of members and the public:
1) Individual coaching continues in accordance with LTA guidance and subject to:
- Coach and pupil must wash hands before and after each lesson
- Pupils are not to touch tennis balls – only the coach
- Strict 2 metre distance must be maintained
- A limited number of tennis balls to be used and changed for each lesson
2) The Junior Programme is suspended with immediate effect. We will review this at the end of the Easter holidays.
3) Formal Club sessions are suspended until further notice, although the indoor court will remain available for members to use at these times.
4) All social functions are cancelled until further notice
5) Members are advised to take all reasonable sensible precautions when attending the club. These must include:
- Wash your hands regularly
- Cough into a tissue and then bin it
- Maintain a reasonable social distance from other members wherever possible
6) Do not attend the club if you have any symptoms of Coronavirus, including:
- A fever or temperature
- A new continuous dry cough
- Difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
7) Do not shake hands or make unnecessary contact with others
8) Be particularly careful when around persons over 70’s or pregnant or who have underlying health conditions
9) Members over 70 or pregnant or with underlying health conditions are strongly advised to avoid all group gatherings and any close contact with others.
10) You must not visit the club if you are required to self-isolate for any reason.
