Ski School programme

6 x 1 hour lessons with a professional ski instructor at the indoor real snow ski centre at Hemel Hempstead. 1 lesson every other week. 

The cost of ski school is £240 for the year (6 lessons). £40 per lesson includes the cost of transport, skis, boots and helmet hire, as well as the professional ski instruction.

There must be a minimum of 5 pupils for each lesson to run.

Pupils must wear warm waterproof clothing, gloves and thick socks. If you do not have salopettes and a ski coat please wear waterproof trousers, several layers on top and a waterproof coat.

How it works

1. Decide whether your son / daughter is a beginner or an improver:

Beginner (if any of the following apply): Never skied before. Never used a ski lift. Cannot turn

Improver: Skied for more than a week on snow. Can ski down a blue slope with controlled, linked snow plough turns.

2. Click on the appropriate level below (beginner or improver). Book and pay online.

3. Send Mr James an email (sjames@altonschool.co.uk) with your son's/daughter's full name, height, weight and shoe size. This must be accurate and without this information your son/daughter will not be able to ski.

4. Booking is first come first served. If space has run out on one session but there is still space on the other, for example, you would like to book onto the beginner lesson but there is still space on the improver lesson please email Mr James and he may be able to switch some of the improver spaces to beginner spaces.

Mon 16th September 4.30-5.30pm (leave school at 2:15pm, back at school for 7pm)

Tues 1st Oct 4-5pm (leave school at 1:45pm, back at school for 6:45pm)

Weds 16th Oct 4-5pm (leave school at 1:45pm, back at school for 6:45pm)

Thurs 7th Nov 3.45-4.45pm (leave school at 1:30pm, back at school for 6:30pm)

Mon 18th Nov 4.30-5.30pm (leave school at 2:15pm, back at school for 7pm)

Tues 3rd Dec 4-5pm (leave school at 1:45pm, back to school for 6:45pm)
