Dear All,

Dumfries Tennis Club will be hosting the regions first ever LTA Fast4 Tennis competition during the Xmas holidays. This event is open to ladies and gents with a rating of 8.1 up to 10.2.

What is Fast4 Tennis!

Basically it is a shorter and faster format of tennis so players can play more matches on the day. The shortened format offers a "fast" alternative to tennis, with four points, four games and four rules:

there are no advantage scores so 40-40 next point wins,

lets are played so if a let happens during a serve then the point is live,

tie-breakers apply at three games all,

and the first to four games wins the set.

Simple and appropriate for the winter season, quick matches then back into the warmth of the pavilion and the matches count towards ratings.
