Safeguarding

Safeguarding means taking steps to protect children, young people, and adults at risk from abuse, neglect, bullying, and other harm, while making sure the club is a safe, respectful, and inclusive place to play tennis.

Armley Tennis Club is committed to prioritising the well-being of all children and adults at risk, promoting safeguarding in our club at all times, including all programmes and events we run. All activities, events and trips arranged by the club run in accordance with the LTA’s Safeguarding at Events and Competitions Guidance. This Policy strives to minimise risk, deliver a positive tennis experience for everyone and respond appropriately to all safeguarding concerns/disclosures.

Please read below for further information. If you need to report a concern or ask a question, please contact the current welfare officer Richard Slack on 07814 202665 or richardslack12@gmail.com or welfare@armleytennis.net and/or report your incident/concerns directly to the Lawn Tennis Association with the following link: here.

SAFEGUARDING IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY: NOT RESPONDING TO A SAFEGUARDING CONCERN IS NOT AN OPTION.

  • Our club’s committee has overall accountability for these policies and their implementation.
  • Our club Welfare Officer Rich Slack is responsible for updating these policies in line with legislative and club developments.
  • The LTA Safeguarding Team and Tennis Foundation Safeguarding Leads offer support to our tennis players and throughout the UK.
