A new section of the club champs this year - and highly contested throughout. The Mens Plate tournament offered a continuation of our mens singles competion for the players who were knocked out in the first round - and provided some excellent tennis. Our new Mens 2 Captain - Charlie Jolliffe had to come from behind to win the plate in the only tiebreak of the day. Atti sprung ahead with a dynamic 6-1 win in the first set but Charlie had to dig deep to win the second 6-2 and then the momentum carried through into the tiebreak with the win at 10-6. Charlie took the medal but Atti said the wooden spoon would provide excellent use at home!
