The team comprises of 2 mixed pairs who played throughout the winter season against other local small clubs and came top of their division and win promotion to the higher level next year.

We have entered the Summer League again this year having been promoted last season. If there is anyone out there who would like to be considered for a place in one of the matches can you contact Jamie on 07528 375018.

Club Nights

Thursday evenings have resumed and start at 5.30pm for the early birds and continuing until dusk. There is a 30 minute match play coaching session from 6 to 6.30pm with helpful advice being given through out the following half hour. Already we have seen the improvements from these sessions. Join in if you want some drills to work to improve your tennis.

Junior Coaching

Friday evening classes are being held from 3.30pm, they are arranged by ability. If you want your children to have some lessons from 4 years old to 16 years old then contact Matt Fellingham on 07779273655. These have already proved to be very popular with the juniors. You do not have to be a club member to enrol.

Family Tennis Tournament

for the benefit of the

Icknield Way Village Churches

Sunday, 9th August 2015 - starting at 11 am.

Our seventh annual tournament will be held on private courts in some or all of the villages of Chrishall, Duddenhoe End, Elmdon, Great Chishill, Little Chishill, Heydon and Strethall. Proceeds will be shared between the parish churches in these villages. Entry is not restricted to those living in the villages.

The tournament will be open to mixed pairs of any age from 11 upwards. Each pair will be allocated to one of the courts (with at least one court reserved for younger players) and will play matches against all the other pairs allocated to that court - six games in each match. There will be a sliding handicap: once a pair gets two games behind, they will start the next game(s) at 15-love. If they get 4 games behind, they will start at 30-love. Each match will be played over the full six games. The four top scoring couples from all courts will go forward to the semi-finals stage.

The semi-finals and final will be played at Little Chishill Manor. The owners of all courts have kindly agreed to provide soft drinks. Players will bring their own packed lunches. A delicious tea will be provided for all players and their supporters at the finals stage at Little Chishill . Tennis balls will be provided. Players may enter in pairs or singly (in which case they will be allocated a partner).

The entry fee will be £3 per player to cover overheads. In addition, players are invited to make a donation (which may be Gift Aided) of, say, £12 (for each player) to the Icknield Way Parish Trust.

Please apply for entry forms from the Church Office (01763 837272 office@icknieldwayparish.com
