The court is available for public bookings outside of school hours, so not between 8.30am and 4.30pm on School Days. Weekends and School holidays will be available all day. 

Welcome

We hope that our Members will enjoy using this new facility. To ensure it stays in good condition only registered Members of the new Barnack Sports Club will be able to book the court. 

 

The recommended village access to the Sports Court is via the school back gate off the B1443 on School Hill. Alternatively, it can be accessed by the pedestrian gate at the Main School entrance on School Road. See photos. The residents entrance to the Sports Court is on the north side, near the back gate entrance. 

PLEASE NOTE:  the gates are closed after dusk. Please DO NOT GET LOCKED IN.

There is a padlock locking the shed where some basic equipment and the tennis nets are stored. The code will be notified with each booking. All users should return all equipment to the shed after use and re-lock the padlock.

 

** Please note ** the court closes at dusk.
The court may only be booked during the Opening Hours below and before dusk. 


 

Play should end 10 minutes before the next session so that the next users are able to start on time. Similarly, play should end 10 minutes before closing time, so that the facility and the school grounds are vacated by the published finish time.


 

Rules of use

Only registered Members of the Barnack Sports Club may book and this court
Guests must be accompanied by a Member at all times
Children under 13 years old should be supervised
No dogs are allowed on the school playing field or this Sports Court
Only sports footwear, such as trainers or tennis shoes, should be worn on the court
No roller skating, roller blading, skateboards, bikes or scooters allowed
No alcohol or glass on the court
No music, fireworks or BBQ’s
Please respect nearby residents and keep noise to a minimum
Please take any litter away or use the bin provided
Please ensure the gate is locked and padlocked when you leave and that all equipment is returned to the shed


Sports Use

This facility can be used Tennis, Basketball, Netball, Five-a-side Football or for other sports such as fitness training. Any activities which might damage the court should be avoided.


Parking & Access

No parking is allowed on the school grounds. Please use the Village Hall car park.  Access to the Sports Court from School road is via the School main entrance side gate. Alternatively, access via the back gate off the B1443.


Equipment

The tennis nets are stored in the shed. They must be returned to the shed after use and the padlock re-locked.

There is some sports equipment stored in the shed, such as basketballs and netballs, a few tennis rackets and balls. Users should not rely on this equipment and should expect to bring their own.

The nearest Defibrillator unit is on the wall of the Village Hall
