Barton under Needwood Lawn Tennis Club

Located in the village of Barton under Needwood in Staffordshire, our Tennis Club enjoys superb facilities as part of the thriving Holland Sports Club which also hosts football, rugby, cricket, tug -of-war and netball. Established in Barton in the 1920's the Tennis Club moved to its current site in 1960.

The Tennis Club owns two tarmac courts and shares use of Holland Sports' adjacent multi-use games area (astroturf) on which three further courts are marked. The Club also has a small viewing gallery and makes full use of the bar and facilities of Holland Sports' recently refurbished clubhouse for tennis league matches, club events and social tennis. We also ensure that all courts are maintained to a high standard.

We are an LTA affiliated venue, run by and for our members, and provide social and competitive tennis for all ages and abilities. There is a range of membership packages available and the Club has an inclusive social scene.

If you are new to the game of tennis, a lapsed player or simply want to improve your game, we offer coaching from our LTA qualified coaches either in groups or individual.

Social tennis sessions are open to all members for 2 hours from 10:00am every Sunday morning and  7:00pm Wednesday evenings. These sessions run throughout the year under free floodlighting when necessary. Courts can also be booked without charge by members at other times.

For those who enjoy something a little more competitive, the Club runs a Summer Tournament and occasional Sunday 'American' tournaments (normally with a barbeque lunch to follow).

The Club also hosts an annual club dinner hosted at a local venue.

The Club fields ladies, mens and mixed doubles teams in the Burton & District League with a focus on inclusivity:  we run as many teams as there are members keen to participate, which is typically around 7 teams per season.
