Head Coach | Nic Tweedy

LTA Level 3 Accredited+

Nic is passionate about inspiring others to play tennis. She thrives on being on court, delivering a variety of sessions tailored to help each individual achieve their goals, while passing on her enthusiasm for the game. A core principle of her coaching philosophy is enjoyment of this lifelong sport, which underpins her approach to developing players’ technical, tactical, psychological, and physical understanding of tennis.

Nic began playing tennis at the age of four, and it has been a central part of her life ever since. She has represented the Durham and Cleveland County Team for over 19 years and has competed at National Level both as a junior and during her time at university.

With over 10 years of coaching experience, Nic has previously held the role of Head Coach at Thorner Victory Hall Tennis Club and Yorkshire U12 County Captain.  She has experience of supporting player development across the full pathway, from tots tennis through to international level.

When not at Barwick, Nic coaches at the Yorkshire Tennis Regional Performance Development Centre as well as acting as Tennis Coordinator at Leeds Beckett University. A recent highlight in her coaching journey has been assisting on an LTA U12 National Trip to France, which provided a valuable learning experience at an elite level.

As a registered (SENr) nutritionist, Nic also offers personalised nutrition consultancy services for individuals across a wide range of sport and exercise backgrounds.

While Nic takes great pride in supporting players along performance pathways, she finds the greatest reward in helping players of all ages and abilities, each with their own unique goals, continue to improve, grow in confidence, and most importantly, enjoy the sport.
