Baslow Football Festival 2016

An extremely successful event as agreed by everyone!

We hosted, U8, U9 and U10 teams of boys, girls and mixed teams. There were side stalls - BBQ - refreshments - licensed  bar - team photography - dedicated parking - penalty shoot out - walking football -

“The best organised tournament I’ve ever been too – and I’ve attended a few over the years” was the verdict of FA Referee Malcolm Gratton following the Baslow Junior Football Festival which took place on 26 June.

 The Festival brought together 24, under 10 teams from across Derbyshire and South Yorkshire to play in a friendly and supportive day of competition across four pitches. Even though the heavens opened first thing, it didn’t stop a fabulous display of incredible football skills from all our young players. In all, 60 matches were played across the day culminating in three finals with very worthy winners and runners up.

 Andy King, Manager of Ashbourne Aztecs said;

 "The Festival was a fantastic experience for all teams, players and their families. The pitches were superb, food, drink, toilets, refreshments, first aid, bouncy castles – absolutely perfect! We will definitely be returning next season with hopefully more teams”.

 The emphasis of the day was to watch great football set within a supportive and sportsmanlike environment and under the watchful eye of FA Respect representative, Cath Morton, this was certainly achieved.
