Scottish Championships at Scotstoun

World Tennis Tour $25k - The Scottish Championships

Professional tennis returns to Glasgow from 13th February – 20th February when Tennis Scotland stages the Scottish Championships – Men’s and Women’s $25k singles and doubles events – at the Scotstoun Leisure Centre.

Qualifying rounds for both men’s and women’s singles will be played on the Sunday and Monday with play starting at 10 am and continuing into the evening.  The main draws of both events start on Tuesday (10 am start) and continue through to the finals which will be played on Sunday 20th February (provisional start time 11 am).   Saturday’s programme offers singles semi-finals and both doubles finals.

Scotland will once again have local Bearsden player Aidan McHugh taking part with other Scottish players to be confirmed. Aidan, currently at a career-high world-ranking of 327 will be looking to take home the title. The men’s draw (one of the strongest in history) includes former world number 21 Thomaz Bellucci. The women’s draw is equally as strong with several top 200 players making up the main draw, with world number 132 Vitalia Diatchenko heading up the women’s field.

As always, the standard of tennis will be very high and this is an opportunity to watch the stars of the future in Scotland’s first professional event of 2022.   Entry to the spectators’ stand is free all week with the leisure centre café offering snacks for all. Please ensure you always wear a face mask when moving around the centre and while seated in the stand. It is advised to take a Lateral Flow test before attending the event.
