2. EGM

Forty-four Club members attended an Extraordinary General Meeting last Tuesday to consider two motions.  These resulted in (a) overwhelming support for a delay to our AGM (this is as a result of challenges we have faced this year especially), and (b) the permission to ensure we can access professional advice to protect the Club and its future management.

3. Road Repairs

At long last, the road from BLTC up to Horseshoe Road is getting resurfaced starting today (Monday 31st), and should be completed by Guy Fawkes Night!  There will only be pedestrian access until Saturday so please leave your cars at home.

4a. Team Tennis

The autumn Over 40 leagues have just concluded.  All our teams battled valiantly (and through some very wet matches!) - with a special mention to our Ladies 1st Team for their third place in Division 2A.  Our two senior Winter League teams will be playing over a series of Sunday afternoons and Monday evenings this winter.  We got off to a good start with an 8-1 away win at Stepps.  Keep it going, lads and lassies!

4b. Junior Tennis

Our juniors are playing league matches too through autumn and winter.  With U9, U11 and U14 teams represented, it's good to see matches continuing well into 2023. Thanks to those players competing, but also to the support shown by team captain's Lynnette McBride and Gordon Wilson.

5. Easyfundraising

BLTC members using easyfundraising have now raised over £1,200 for BLTC!  Please join the scheme at https://www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/bearsdenlawntennisclub/ to help us out, and get your family and friends on board too.  Easyfundraising includes major retailers such as Marks and Spencer, John Lewis, Amazon and thousands of others.  If you're doing any Christmas shopping online, or thinking of booking a holiday, please support BLTC by using easyfundraising (we receive a small percentage donation for every transaction).

6. Coaching

For those new to the Club this year, junior coaching continues all year round (see https://clubspark.lta.org.uk/BearsdenLTC/Coaching or contact Head Coach Gordon Wilson for details).  There are also Winter Drills to keep your fun and fitness levels at the max (allegedly!) and lots of social tennis too.  We have various WhatsApp groups for arranging hits as well.

Have a Fun, Scary and Safe Halloween and Fireworks season 👺🚀
