1. A Look Back at 2022 - As winter brings us sub-zero temperatures and with snow not far away, spring 2022 seems far behind us.  The prospect of a normal tennis season back then seemed just around the corner.  Our lads kicked off by winning their Spring Singles league......and then it all kicked off with multiple crises across the world and closer to home!!  However, tis the season of goodwill and cheer so I'd like to begin by thanking the committee for all their work, for their support of me, and for all the things we’ve done this year: the Presidents v Convenors tournament; Matt Guthrie in the LTA Play-Your-Way-To-Wimbledon competition; a 90 years young birthday (Jan Shaw); new LCD floodlights; our Club Championships (including an ‘old’ champion (Rachel), and a ‘new’ one (Fraser) - well done to you both and all our champions); a vegetable garden, with pumpkins produced for the kids' Halloween Party! (well done, Fiona Berlouis); a lovely new road surface (thanks to our friendly new neighbours, the Dochertys!); a Clydesdale Cup winning team; a new Club sponsor (Bearsden Post Office - thanks, Kulbir!); Oran McBride pulling up trees in U-10 and U-11 tournaments across the country; our Men's 3rd Team being runners-up in their division (well done, Captain Rob); and, as I write, we are going strong in the Winter Leagues.  CONGRATULATIONS AND WELL DONE ALL!!!!

2. Awards Night - Another great evening at Bearsden Golf Club in October, where the decibels from the Edwards clan was only exceeded by the number of raffle prizes they won!  Speaking of which, a huge thanks to those who supported the evening including raffle donors: Kulbir at Bearsden PO, Lloyds Pharmacy, Bearsden Tyres, Vicki at Colourwaves, Tennis Scotland, Helmis, Farmfoods, Janice Anderson, Ross McFarlane, E. Campbell, Gordon Wilson, Co-op.  Please support them and show your reciprocal support.

3. EGM - You should have received an email from us about an Extraordinary General Meeting that is being held on Zoom on Tuesday 20th December.  It is unfortunate to have to have a second one so close to the one we had in October.  However, this underlines the impact of Club matters on our existing committee volunteers, and is important for the function of our future committees.  Please do your best to register and attend online if you can (see separate email).  This is your Club.

4. Road - The newly-completed road resurfacing includes three speed bumps (which I'm delighted about) and was long overdue.  Please keep to an 8mph speed and keep everyone safe - especially at the bend.  Be mindful too of our neighbours.  I get fewer but still too many reports of speeding and dodgy parking!!

5. Christmas Jumper Tennis Day – this Saturday 17th December 12 - 4pm - Show off your winter tennis skills and sweat it out on court (hopefully!) in your Christmas togs. There will be soup, nibbles, mulled wine for all members, families, juniors, seniors, and friends.  There will be music, table tennis, and prizes for the best Xmas outfit - including a free 2023 membership for a Mini member, a fabulous bottle of wine from my cellar(!), a voucher for a BLTC Club top, and chocolates too.  SEE YOU THERE...

Have a happy, safe, warm and fun Christmas...
