Bar Re-opening

***COVID-19 UPDATE - we will reopen the bar in line with the goverments easing of restrictions. Currently, this will be 17th May but is subject to change. ***

We are excited about welcoming our members back to the bar, but it is important to be clear that we will be operating in a more limited capacity due to current guidelines. This means that we will only be opening at specific times over the next six weeks as a trial to see how it works. Additionally you'll need to book before you come. All the details are below and you can find details explaining how to access and use the booking system here. We are currently planning to open on the following dates:

Fridays 6.30-9.30pm - 28th August, 4th/11th/18th/25th September
Saturdays from 4-7pm - 29th August, 12th/19th/26th September
Sundays from 2.30-5.30pm - 30th August, 6th/13th/27th September

As you can imagine the bar cannot open as normal as we have had to implement some new rules. This is for the safety and wellbeing of everybody using the clubhouse, especially the bar staff who are all volunteers. The new system will work as follows:

- You must book a table if you wish to come to the bar. Unfortunately members who turn up without booking a table will not be permitted to enter. The table booking system will work on the court booking website we currently use - full instructions will follow shortly by separate email. We would ask that you only make bookings using the website, not the app. This will allow you to enter the names of everybody on your table which is not possible on the app. There will be six bookable tables inside plus four tables outside. Indoor tables are for up to four people and outdoor tables are for six people - a full table plan is attached

- Upon arrival please sanitise your hands using the automated sanitising unit in the foyer

- We must insist currently that there are no guests, only playing and social members can attend. If you were a social member for the 2019/2020 membership year we will not be asking you for any membership fees this year. With the disruption to the social side of the club since March and new limited bar hours, we feel it's unfair to do so

- Current government guidance states that you should "only socialise indoors with members of up to 2 households". Outside you can "socialise in a group of up to 6 people from different households or up to 2 households". We strongly advise you to check the latest government advice here: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/meeting-people-from-outside-your-household-from-4-july. Please respect these guidelines and be sure to observe proper social distancing at all times

- If you come to the club with children they must sit with you at all times unless they are using the toilet. Children will not be allowed to run about or to play on the grass, the car park or the courts (unless they are playing members and have booked a court to play while you are at the bar). There will be no group coaching on a Friday night so although the bar will be open there is no Family Night structure at present

- Please order your drinks from the designated spot in front of the bar. Your drinks will be served on a tray to the side of the bar closest to the window. While queueing to be served please respect social distancing from those around you. There will be no seating at the bar itself

- For the foreseeable future we will only be accepting card payments, no cash

- While enjoying your drinks please remain at your table. Moving tables/chairs or visiting other tables is not allowed

- Please be ready to leave promptly at the end of the opening period

We understand that this all sounds a little draconian, and it's sad that we cannot reopen fully and enjoy the warm atmosphere we're all used to. However, under the circumstances it's the only way we can do it safely. All our bar volunteers will be wearing visors and/or masks for the duration of their bar shift and will be sanitising their hands regularly. We have worked hard to prepare everything for your safety and welfare, and we thank you in advance for playing your part and respecting the rules. Should you have any questions please don't hesitate to contact Simon Lewis on 07788 721599 or Chris Muscroft on 07507 781339
