Club Rules

Through our policies and procedures Beckford Tennis Club aims to comply with various regulatory frameworks and guidelines to ensure the well-being, safety and privacy of members, guests and visitors.  Members are responsible for familiarising themselves with and observing the content of these documents.  Committee members are responsible for managing and promoting the documents.  Please use these links to read our Constitution, Expectations and Etiquette, Code of Conduct, Disciplinary Policy, Finance Policy.

Membership Terms & Conditions

By joining Beckford Tennis Club you agree to become a member of the Club and therefore subject to our rules and policies.  If you are enrolling a junior member (under 18) as a parent or official guardian, you must also take out membership.  No children under the age of 14 may be on the Club premises unsupervised.  Full information can be found on the Membership page.

Club Committee

In accordance with the Club’s Constitution, members elect representatives annually to the Club’s Committee. 

Codes of Conduct

The objectives of the Club are to provide recreational tennis for all residents of Beckford and the surrounding areas, to encourage young members to attend professional coaching, and to provide match and tournament play for Club members.  All members are expected to adopt and promote the Club’s Codes of Conduct, available here.

Safety

The Club is committed to providing safe facilities for our members and guests.  As part of the Health & Safety Policy, it is important for the Club to record any significant accidents, injuries, risks or hazards which will help ensure future risks can be minimised.  The Welfare Officer routinely undertakes safeguarding risk assessments on Club activities, raising issues with Committee members.  Please select the link below to record any accidents or injuries using the form provided.  Hard copies of the form are available in the clubhouse.

Compliments & Complaints

Beckford Tennis Club is committed to providing a quality service and working in an open and accountable way building trust and respect. We listen and respond to the views of our members and visitors, and we welcome compliments, feedback, and suggestions.  The Compliments & Complaints Policy is available here.

Data Privacy & GDPR

The Club ensures that Members' information is stored securely and is not made available to the general public or any third parties.  This Policy meets this requirement and is compliant with current EU and UK regulations including the General Data Protection Regulation EU 2016/679.  The Data Privacy Policy is available here.

Court Booking and Floodlights

Access and use of the tennis and pickleball courts are only allowed where reservations have been made using the Court Booking System available on the Club website. 

Court floodlights work by using a token which is slotted into the meters in the clubhouse. Tokens can be purchased from our Membership Secretary, Sue Somers, beckford4tennis@btinternet.com, 07887761588.  Each token lasts for 30-minutes and costs £2.00.

Adult players attending evening social sessions when lights are used are asked to pay a £1 contribution towards the cost of electricity.  Parents of junior players are asked to contribute 50p.  Monies are payable to a committee member or coach.
