Bedwellty Park

Tennis is a sport with so many physical and mental health benefits.

Not only does it get you outside, among the amazing environment of Bedwellty Park, it improves your overall fitness, strength and agility.  Being in nature and the outdoors is good for your mental health but the game itself improves your critical thinking, decision making skills and mental alertness.  Plus, it’s fun!

We have three courts, close to Bedwellty House, that are easily accessible and bookable online through Pay and Play or an annual pass.

How to play tennis at Bedwellty House and Park …

       Annual Pass for your Family - £39.00 a year

       Annual Pass as a Student - £19.00 a year

       Pay & Play by Booking a Court - £4.50 per hour - click here

Once you’ve subscribed, simply book a court online and enter your code at the gate to play.

All pass holders can book free tennis courts up to 3 times in any 7-day period with each booking up to a maximum of 2 hours.

Gate Access Issue?

1. What do I do if my PIN code doesn’t work?

• Check your booking is on the correct day, time and venue.
• Are you entering the code within your allocated booking time? (No more than 10 minutes before of after your allocated booked session).
• Make sure you press the * key once followed by the six-digit code.

2. What do the tones/sounds mean on the keypad?

• Two short tones (with a blue light displayed) signals that the code has been input correctly.
• A short tone (with a red light displayed) signals that the code has been input incorrectly.
• A long tone (with a red light displayed) signals that the code has been input incorrectly three times. The keypad has now been locked and you will need to wait one minute before trying again.

3. I think I’ve done everything correctly, but I still have an issue.

Please familiarise yourself with the guidance at the site in relation to playing safe and have a great time on court.

We kindly ask that should you not be able to make your booking, please cancel this on the website so that the booking slot can be released for other customers.

Need equipment?

No problem.  The team at Bedwellty House and Park has several racquets and balls that can be loaned to you free of charge – simply ask at reception when you arrive.

Alternatively, you can borrow tennis equipment from your local library in Blaenau Gwent as part of the sports libraries – also free and can be loaned for a 3-week period.

Finally – you’ve had a fabulous game so why not treat yourself to refreshments in our Orchid House Tea Room – just a few minutes’ walk from the courts?
