Tennis is back in Biddenden – the only game in town!

We are excited that, from today, the Biddenden tennis courts are now open, and people are already booking court time. We have also launched our new discounted membership packages for the remainder of the 2020/21 season.

Unfortunately, this is not yet business as usual, and we would like everyone playing tennis on the courts to read the LTA guideline for players during the lockdown.

This can be found through this link.

There are also some important rules for the Biddenden courts we would like to emphasise.

  1. Only members are allowed in the courts enclosure. Guests and spectators are not allowed.
  2. If you would like to play with someone who is not currently a member, either within your household or outside they will have to join. Membership now starts at just £5 for our new one-month individual option. Given guests would normally have to pay £2 per hour per player in any case, we hope you will accept that this is very reasonable.
  3. You can only have one other person from another household in the court enclosure at any time. To be clear, this means no more than two people should be on the court, unless everyone is from the same household. The only exception is when a junior member is receiving 1:1 coaching from an LTA registered coach. For safeguarding reasons, a parent/guardian must be present, but at a safe distance well away from the court of play.
  4. You must book the courts via ClubSpark. Please do not turn up at the courts hoping to play, because that raises the risk of unwanted interaction with other members.
  5. We will be changing the gate code more regularly, so please check the code on your booking conformation email. If we change the code after you have booked the court, we will email you separately. Please look out for these emails, and make sure your email address on ClubSpark is up to date.
  6. The nets have been adjusted to the correct height and we have removed the net handles to reduce the risk of infection. We will check the net heights regularly. Please let us know if you think they are wrongly adjusted.
  7. We are working hard to open the hut for hand-washing facilities and access to the first aid kit, but for now it will remain closed. In the meantime, please bring your own hand sanitiser (if you have it) and first aid kit.
  8. Please do not leave anything on court after you leave. Please take all of your rubbish with you.

We hope you enjoy playing tennis again after such a long break.
