BTC Success at Durham and Cleveland Awards Night

Over 50 members and parents from the club attended the 8th Durham and Cleveland Awards Night where Blaydon Tennis Club were nominated for the Club of the Year Award. There were many other success stories from the 2017 season for both teams and individuals. At the evening at the Stadium of Light on Friday 19th Jan 2018 individual prizes were awarded to:

Jennifer Morrison - The Harry and David Thomas Meritorious Award for Outstanding Contribution to Tennis;

Ian Pearson - Coach of the Year Runner-Up;

Toby Grant - the U9 Durham and Cleveland County Closed Winner;

Evan Conway - the U8 Durham and Cleveland County Closed Winner.

Blaydon teams were also awarded for thefollowing achievements:

Aegon Team Tennis U14 North Winners;

Aegon Team Tennis U12 North Winners;

Aegon Team Tennis U9 Div 1 North Winners;

Aegon Team Tennis U8 Div 1 Winners;

Aegon Team Tennis U8 Div 1 Winners;

Winter League U18 Boys North Winners;

Winter League U9 Winners;

Winter League U8 A Team Winners;

Winter League U8 B team Winners.

I am sure you will all agree that this is an amazing set of achievements and represented a very proud night for everyone connected with the club. A big thanks to all who made the effort to attend at the Stadium of Light, and a particular thanks to Liz Howe and Rachel Cooper who wrote the nominations. Congratulations to all concerned.

Finally, we would like to say congratulations to Shotley and Benfieldside on winning the LTA Club of the Year Award and wish them every success in the North Region Awards later in the year.
