This will be a major event that we are hoping to attract local press coverage from.

As part of the day, we will be hosting a mixed "American Doubles” (also known as “Switch Doubles”) tournament (Details at the bottom of this page).

Those entering the tournament are asked to bring a photograph with them from their younger days, i.e. childhood for a guess the baby/child competition.

Three of F.A.C.T.’s patrons are high profile local celebrities (Jimmy Nail, John Beresford and Dr Chris - This Morning TV) and, although they have busy schedules and their professional commitments take priority, we will be asking if one of them can attend if possible.

Raffle tickets will be sold prior to and on the day.

A flavour of the prizes available are as follows:
Range Rover for the weekend including Bed, Breakfast and Evening meal at the Borrowdale Gates Hotel, Lake District.
Jaguar F type sports car for the weekend
Day out at Kielder - trip around the reservoir and meal.
Tea for 2 at Bayberry Hollow
Personal fitness session
Physio session
Money off vouchers for local restaurants

Any offers of help/input towards or on the day would be greatly appreciated, along with donations of food and beverages etc.

Offers from anyone who is "well connected" and who could fastrack the support of high calibre prize donations would be very welcome too!

This is designed also to be a fun day, so let's make it so.

It’s a subject that resonates with us all and I’m sure we can count on your support and involvement on the day, so please place the date firmly in your diary.

Needless to say, all 6 grass courts have been be seconded for the afternoon and will not be available for free play.

American Double Tournament:

A round-robin doubles tournament with partners drawn ahead of the day.

If the numbers of men and ladies are unequal, then single gender pairs will be asked to choose which man is to play as a “lady” or vice versa.

Play will be in 1- 3 groups depending upon the number of entries. (Multiple groups catering for different abilities / fitness).

Each pair will play the other pairs in in their league once: the men swopping partners at the mid-point of the match.

Tournament winners will be the man and lady, in each league, with the highest percentage of games won.

When deciding the winning man and lady, men playing as ladies count as men and vice versa.
