Our Committee

Ben Lawrence, Chairman

At the AGM in March 2023, Ben Lawrence became Chairman.  As Chairman, Ben takes overall responsibility for the day-to-day management and success of the club, and develops and agrees a long-term plan.  Ben lives in Bledlow Ridge with his wife Jane and sons George and Charlie, all keen tennis players.  Ben has been a member of the club for about 16 years and on the committee for the last three years, and is passionate about getting as many people as possible on court and enjoying the game.  benalawrence@hotmail.com, 01494 481739, 07909 976725

Sarah Layden, Secretary

Sarah joined the club when her family moved to the village eight years ago and has been on the committee as Secretary for the last five years. She conducts the administration for the club, including supporting the chairman in the running of committee meetings and the AGM, and writing and circulating the agenda and meeting notes. As an enthusiastic amateur, Sarah is keen to get people on the courts who haven't played for some time or have never played at all. She plays with her husband and teenage children, is on the women's team in the summer league (always looking for new recruits!) and is thoroughly enjoying the Saturday morning coaching with Sam. sjlayden@googlemail.com 07540 391457

Alastair Light, Treasurer

Alastair joined the committee three years ago. As Treasurer, Alastair is responsible for the management of the finances, including financial planning, paying the bills, and preparing end of year accounts. Alastair and his family have lived in Bledlow Ridge for 19 years and he and his son Cameron both attended Saturday morning coaching with Sam.  Alastair is currently taking a break from playing tennis due to a knee injury, but is keen to grow the social activities of the club and encourage more people to take up tennis, regardless of ability.  alastair.light@btinternet.com, 07485 190 990
