Open Day 2025

Our Annual Open Day was a fantastic afternoon for all!

…..And the sun was out to support us too!

The BBQ blazed cooking burgers, sausages and Janet’s special tandoori chicken and the bar was busy with a constant flow of thirsty members and visitors. Plants were purchased in anticipation of endless summer days (has anyone’s sunflower grown yet?), children’s faces were painted, cakes flew off the stall and if that wasn’t enough, the ice cream van arrived!

On top of all that fun…..lots and lots of tennis was played! Courts 9 and 10 were buzzing with enthusiastic young children (and a wonderful respresentation of our older juniors as “assistant coaches”).

All courts were packed full and bustling with fun, with some fantastic sessions run by our incredibly skilled coaching team. We were treated to some inspiring exhibition tennis from Ollie and George, and both juniors and adults were queuing out of the court to enter the Fastest Serve competition - well done to the winners, George and Isla!

There were lots of activities on offer that can be played weekly, for instance Cardio Tennis, Walking Tennis and Pickleball.

We were also pleased to welcome back Matt Jackson from Smash Racket Pro!

A HUGE thank you goes to absolutely everybody involved in delivering such a successful afternoon.

A special thank you to our sponsors - Butcher & Barlow SolicitorsBang & Olufsen Wimslow and Apex Doma, and to those who contributed prizes to the raffle and tombola, including the lovely Bev who supplies all of our cakes to Serve & Slice and donated a voucher as third prize.

The raffle prizes were presented by Club President, Steve Rhodes. Well done goes to Gill Churchill-Davies, Helen Higgs and Wissam Kabbani.

The cake stall, plant stall, tombola and raffle were all a great success! We are pleased to tell you that, thanks to your contributions and support, the club raised £570 for The Christie Charity!
