Meet the BPLTC Committee

Our club is run by a dedicated team of volunteers who work throughout the year to ensure our members enjoy excellent tennis facilities and a welcoming, thriving club atmosphere. From organising tournaments and social events to maintaining our courts and managing day-to-day operations, each committee member brings their own expertise and enthusiasm to their role.

Many of our members chip in with various jobs and activities through the year. We massively appreciate this ongoing support from our community.

Jon Lang - Stepping down after many years excellent service

Chair of the Committee with general oversight of direction and operations working with other Committee members and Head Coach in running of the Club in line with Club rules and objectives

Secretary

Vacant - We are currently seeking a new Secretary. If you're interested in this role, please contact a member of the committee.

Organising committee meetings and AGM including preparing and distributing the agenda in consultation with the Chair/President

Taking and issuing minutes of committee meetings and AGM

Maintaining club records and legal documents including confidentiality agreements

Ensuring that the club complies with its constitution and/or club rules and any other applicable legal requirements

Assisting with completion of the club's annual LTA venue registration.

The day to day management of the club's finances

Keeping the management  committee updated on the club's financial position

Preparing the annual accounts for audit and presentation at the AGM

Liaising with leagues regarding teams to be entered and respective captains' contact details

Communicating agreed home dates to respective leagues

Distributing league information to team captains

Organising logistics for club league matches including allocating home match dates and block booking courts

Dealing with any disputes arising from league matches

Reporting on team results at committee meetings and the AGM

Grounds Secretary

Paul Dawes - Stepping down after 10 years valued service. Potentially this could become a shared role. 

Main objective is to keep the tennis courts in a playable condition. 

Arranging weekly work parties & periodic deep cleans

Maintaining fences/outbuildings & practice wall.  

Facilitate maintenance of floodlights,  driveways & trees/hedges (big thanks to Jon, Richard and Rob for help with these)

 

Membership Secretary

Responding to email enquiries from existing and prospective new members, providing details of membership packages, pro rata prices and other information about the club

Keeping the membership database up to date

Contacting members about renewals and payments

Co-House Secretaries

Clubhouse matters including:

- Electrics

- Heating

- Fire Safety 

- Cleaning contract

- Waste disposal contract

Co-Social Secretaries

Managing hall and event bookings

Facilitating social tournaments, e.g. American Tournament

Keeping members informed of events via whatsapp, email and website
