Bredon has entered a Pickleball Team into a new league devoted to this fast-growing sport which is being launched next week.

The Gloucestershire Pickleball League (GPL) will be based at Oxstalls in Gloucester, starting on Wednesday, September 10, at 6.30pm. Punchline-Gloucester.com is sponsoring the new league.

There will be 12 teams competing across 3 divisions with each team allowed to bring a squad of up to 8 players (4 women and 4 men) to a league match evening.

This squad can change from week to week to give more opportunities for people to get involved. Over the course of the evening, teams will play 3 matches against other teams in their division. For each match, a team must select two women and two men to compete. Matches will involve a Men v Men, Ladies v Ladies and Mixed. 

The league, which will run for nine weeks, will consist of eight rounds and a finals night.

We are looking for Pickleballers who would like to play in what will be a good social, fun league. All standards welcome so please don't think you need to be the Carlos Alcaraz of Pickleball to play...
