About: Rob has been coaching tennis since 1997.  He has created and managed a number of successful tennis venues, including The Harbour Club London and David Lloyd Cambridge.  Rob has also performed more strategic roles for the LTA and more recently worked in partnership with the Tennis Foundation as the National Director of Tennis for Parkwood Leisure.  Rob is passionate about creating a fun and inclusive environment for everyone to learn and play tennis.

Name: Alex McLaren

Accreditation: LTA Level 3
Venues:  Chesterton, North Cambridge Academy & Comberton
About: Alex is a highly motivated coach who demonstrates expertise in strategic lesson plans, personal nutrition and fitness education and corrective techniques. He possesses refined problem-solving skills and has a clear style of communication. Alex is available for private and group lessons.

Name: Maggie Lindsay
Role: Coach

Venue:  Chesterton and Trumpington
About:  Maggie has been coaching at CTA for 2 years now, and has been playing for 14 years. Along side recently completing her level 3 coaching qualification she is studying in her last year of A levels. Maggie is also a qualified tennis referee so will often be helping Rob run tournaments. Maggie helps run the group sessions at Chesterton and is also available for individual coaching lessons. Maggie loves working with children and beginners to help develop their tennis skills in a fun and safe environment.

About:  Jordan is a driven tennis coach with two main priorities for his players; for them to achieve great results whilst simultaneously having fun! He gives private lessons for adults and children of all ages and abilities.

About:  Alec has been playing tennis for 3 years and recently joined Cambridge Tennis Academy's coaching team. He is planning to complete his level 2 qualification in October this year. Alec takes individual "hitting" bookings as well as participating in the group coaching sessions.

About:  When James was 14 he was ranked number 7 in South Africa. He has a passion for tennis and seeing people of all ages improve. He believes that there is no substitute for positive reinforcement and that tennis can help the development of an individual, in both a competitive and non competitive environment, at all ages and all levels of play. James takes "hitting" practice and also group sessions.

Name: Jimmy Lindsay

About: Jimmy has been playing tennis for over ten years now and has been coaching for just over one year. He has played in, and been successful at, county tournament and currently represents Cambridge Tennis Academy's senior team as well as recently getting into the Hills Road A team. Jimmy intends to take up tennis coaching as a full-time profession and has thoroughly enjoyed his time at CTA so far. Jimmy takes bookings for "hitting" practice as well as participating in the group coaching sessions.

Name: Alana Martin
Role: Assistant Coach
Accreditation: LTA Level 1
Venue:  Chesterton & Comberton
About: Alana has played tennis from a very early age and is an experienced tennis player and a former county player for Norfolk, attaining No.2 in the county for the U16’s. She has also represented numerous clubs (Bannatyne, Esporta, Lakenham and East Anglia Tennis). As a tennis scholar, Alana participated in County, Regional and National Events. At Anglia Ruskin University, she was Head of Ladies’ Tennis and Captain of the Women’s Tennis team from 2015-2017. She is currently a LTA Level 1 Coach and will be undertaking her LTA Level 2 this October.

Name: Anna Emmerson
Role: Senior Tennis Leader

About: Anna currently supports 8 Mini Tennis courses as a Tennis Leader and shows great maturity and enthusiasm every session. She often takes the warm up with new fresh ideas and innovative games to keep the kids fresh and motivated. Anna won the Young Volunteer of the Year Award for Cambridgeshire and the East Region at the 2016 British Tennis Awards. Part of Anna’s prize was spending a week volunteering at the 2017 Wimbledon Championships, where she met many of her heroes!
