Welcome to the website of Canonbie Tennis and Pickle Ball Club. We are very much a community based club with two resin covered tarmac courts which have been in use since the late 1950's and use of Canonbie Public Hall.
Pre COVID, our courts had fallen into disuse due to condition, but were rejuvenated by the current club which was born out of COVID in June 2021. The courts were cleaned, repaired and gently resurfaced with resin bond and provide a good playing surface, including competitively in the D & G league.
We are focussed on encouraging play for all from the tiny nursery children to our awe inspiring elder players.....use or loose it! Fun, health and well being for our community is our focus.
We have LTA registered coach led sessions (see the Coaching tab for details), which includes Tea and Tennis (gentle we promise), youth tennis for under tens and over tens. We play all year round, in the hall if necessary. We have a variety of pickle ball sessions, all year round, held in the Canonbie Public Hall adjacent to the courts.
We also encourage you to become a member where you will get the benefit of free court use, early information on new coaching sessions and access to the social tennis sessions for a very small annual membership fee.
If you are interested in competitive play we have have ladies doubles teams in Dumfries and Galloway Divisions 1 and Divisions 2 - new players please get in touch: canonbietennis@btinternet.com.
The courts are in a very beautiful position, just down from the Public Hall in Canonbie nestled next to the meandering river Esk, surrounded by trees, the public park, outdoor gym, lovely children's recently refurbished play area and neighbour to the bowling green.
If you are interested and cannot find what you want on the website please email us at canonbietennis@btinternet.com.
The Club is registered with the LTA and complies with LTA codes of conduct, policies and protocols with a strong emphasis on the care, welfare and safety of children and vulenrable adults; see the Safeguarding and policies tab for all details.
