Introducing Barking & Dagenham Parks Tennis!
We are thrilled to announce a new partnership with the National Tennis Association that will bring a wide range of exciting opportunities to play and learn tennis in our community. This collaboration marks a significant step forward in enhancing our local tennis facilities and providing more opportunities for residents to get involved in this wonderful sport.
As part of this partnership, a total of 17 tennis courts across five of our parks—Barking Park, Central Park, Greatfields Park, Old Dagenham Park, and St Chads Park—have undergone substantial improvements, thanks to a £402,817 investment. These upgrades ensure that our community will continue to enjoy access to high-quality tennis facilities for years to come.
We understand that the tennis courts have previously been free to use. Our goal is to continue fostering a love for tennis while making the sport as accessible as possible. The new programme, launching in September, will introduce a low-cost court fee structure to support the maintenance of these enhanced facilities.
Starting from 2nd September, court fees will be as follows:
- £4 per hour
- Monthly from £4
- £40 per year
These fees are designed to be affordable, ensuring that everyone in our community can continue to enjoy playing tennis.
In addition to the upgraded courts, there will be numerous opportunities to get involved in coaching sessions, whether you’re a beginner or looking to refine your skills. We’re also excited to offer membership options, which will provide additional benefits for regular players.
This partnership also aims to strengthen our ties with the local community and schools, bringing tennis to more young people and encouraging a new generation to take up the sport.
