Yesterday we held our second American Tournament of the the year. We had our best ever turn out of 40 people meaning all of the courts were full and the club was bustling. The format was to play 6 lots of 5 games of mixed doubles with the winning pair moving courts and the losing pair staying put so partners and opposition changed throughout the afternoon. It was a lovely mix of members both new and old, of all standards of play, and there was good friendly competition and lots of smiles across all of the courts.

The play lasted for about 2 hours after which there was afternoon tea and cake to be devoured while the scores were tallied up and the winners announced - well done to Bea Roberts and Bill Stothart who claimed the ladies and men's crowns respectively!

A big thank you to Jody for organising on the day, to Alison and Pat for the pre-tournament organisation and to all those who provided sandwiches and cake for the afternoon tea.
