Ellie Baker has had an amazing few days competiting at Wimbledon! Each year the LTA run a competition called 'Play your way to Wimbledon' which is believed to be one of the biggest tournaments in the uk with thousands of players entereing each year. The first stage is at your local club. Ellie started the competition at City and then went through to the regional round at Hills road Cambridge  which she then won therfore qualifying her to play at Wimbledon!

Ellie recives weekly coaching with Katrin Turvey who use to be a professional tennis player and now is a very experienced coach.

Once Ellie got to wimbledon she was put in a group of 4 where she had to play 3 matches. Ellie Finsihed second in the group to qualify for the final 24 players! 

Ellie then had a monsterous battle against Ava Mcmillan losing 7-6(4), 5-7, 7-10.

We are extremly proud of Ellie and slightly jealous that she has had such an amazing experience and played on the courts we can only dream of playing on!

Ellie posted on Instagram about her experience. "I was really pleased to have come 2nd in my box to qualify for the Main Draw of 24 girls. Unfortunately, I lost my first match in a very close 3 sets in the Main Draw but was extremely pleased with how played! It was so fun to see and spend time with some of my friends and be involved in the fun challenges set by @laurarobson5 & @vodafoneuk !! 💜🍓💚"
