Two Awards for two City Coaches!

We have something to celebrate amidst the lockdown - Max has won the LTA County Award for Coach of the Year and Alice the Young Person of the Year Award.
Launched in 2015 the LTA Tennis Awards celebrate the achievements made by outstanding individuals involved in tennis. There are about 25,000 volunteers, 4,672 coaches and 975 officials in Great Britain, who dedicate their pre- cious time and energy to bring fans and players closer to the game.
Both Max and Alice are actively involved in delivering coach- ing programmes at both the Club and in local schools.

Max’s nomination recognised the extraordinary amount of work he has put into the Club both on and off court and in particular cited his efforts to get new adult and juniors playing the game. On court Max delivers 17 hours of group coaching a week, runs several successful junior teams, organised the Club Champion- ship ( with 148 entries ), runs the very popular Wednesday night Club Session, and ran two Team Challenge Tournaments with about 50 players competing in each. Off court Max manage the Club’s social media pages, coordinates fundraising activities with other sections of the Club, helped deco-
rate the Clubhouse and sometimes serves behind the bar !

Alice completed her Level 1 and 2 coaching awards this year and now supports 6 hours of coaching a week in a local school as well as coaching at the Club including kids
camps and running her own coaching sessions for two hours a week.
Alice also helps run a coaching session for Children with Physical dis-
abilities that the Club runs weekly in conjunction with Peterborough’s Child Development Centre. Alice is very popular with the children and acts completely selflessly to support the club and school she coaches out.
Many congratulations to both Max and Alice for receiving these thoroughly well-deserved awards.
