Outdoor Courts Opening on the 18th of May.

Our contactors took the opportunity of the fine whether on Monday to paint the courts. The courts need to dry for a few days, new nets are arriving on Friday, and we are putting up windbreaks and signage early next week, ready for an opening on Wednesday Club night at 6pm.

The playing surface of the courts has been painted a Claret Violet colour, and the run off area Pine green. The colours have been selected to optimize ball tracking, with the Claret Violet colour chosen as it contrasts well with yellow, the colour of tennis balls. If you’re familiar at all with the Isaac Newton colour wheel, you’d see that the violets and the blues are almost 180 degrees opposite of the yellows on the wheel. So the greatest amount of contrast is created with the yellow and the Violet or blue.
