Limited re-opening from 13 May 2020

Following further clarifications we have received from Government, tennis activity in England will be able to take place outdoors from Wednesday 13 May with singles play only, other than where players are all from the same household in which case they can play doubles.

Before you play, please read the latest LTA guidance for players at https://www.lta.org.uk/globalassets/news/2020/lta-guidance-for-tennis-players---covid-19.pdf

As the court maintenance was interrupted by the lockdown, the courts have no sand at present. The maintenance contractors have advised that we can play on the courts without sand, but the bounce and grip will not be ideal, and caution should be exercised.

The clubhouse will remain closed, except for access to balls, use of the bathrooms, and first aid. Only one household should be in the clubhouse at any time, and we would ask you to use a face covering in the clubhouse. Please wash your hands before and after play. We'll provide sanitising spray for door handles etc.

We suggest each household or singles pair take a set of 4 balls and mark them for their own use. All the balls in the clubhouse have been disinfected, except those in the coaching baskets - which should be fine after 7 weeks untouched.

You should still maintain a distance of 2m from anyone who is not a member of your household, both on and off the courts. Juniors should be supervised by parents. Please book a court online in advance, so that we do not have people mingling as they wait to play.

We'll review social and coaching sessions as we get more detailed advice, but only one-to-one coaching will be allowed in the short term.

(The details above are subject to change according to any further advice from the government or the LTA.)
