SOCIAL TOURNAMENT
SATURDAY 22nd August 2020
2.00 – 5.30 pm
This will be our first Social Tournament in the Covid era and so we have had to make some changes …..read on…..
Format: We will use our normal format
Sign up, play and score as an individual
You will be assigned a (different) partner for each round
Highest scoring Gent and Lady will play Second Highest scoring Gent and Lady in the Finals
Sign up: This is different:
Entry is restricted to the first 20 players to sign up
To sign up, please log in to our website, and in the Section ‘More’ / ‘Book a Court’ navigate to 22 August, and then enter your name in the right hand column (if you have problems see ‘help’ below)
PLAYING / Covid issues
Tennis balls: in accordance with LTA Guidelines we will not be trying to segregate tennis balls, they will get mixed between players and courts.
You must use the hand sanitiser provided when entering and leaving the courts
We will have just a 2-3 minute gap between rounds, so most people can stay on court, so we can avoid congestion at the gates.
With 20 players, every player will sit out at least one round
SOCIAL / Covid issues…… This is different - we have to maintain Social Distancing
Use of the clubhouse will be limited to accessing the toilets and other essentials….
Accordingly
- Please bring your own food as you may require;
- Communal sharing and grazing is discouraged…. Which is a real shame for us cake lovers
but hey ho perhaps next time !
Again to help with Social Distancing please do not feel ‘obliged’ to stay for the Final….. possibly disappointing for the Finalists but….. for the greater good ..
AND please bring your bank card so we can (painlessly) extract a £3 entry fee from you.
You can also buy drinks from the bar using your card. There will be service from the doorway only (only the designated barman will be inside the clubhouse fetching your drinks)
Apologies if this all sounds a bit heavy but we are keen to get the Social Tournaments going again and we will gain experience from this first one
