Membership Policies

Schedule 1 to The Rules and Constitution for
Colden Common Tennis Club

This Schedule forms a summary of the Rules and Constitution, the full version of which is available from the CCTC committee.
 
General
 
Colden Common Tennis Club (CCTC) is a Community Amateur Sports Club. The Club is a non-profit making organisation. All surplus income or profits are to be reinvested in the Club. No portion thereof shall be paid or transferred, directly or indirectly, to the Members of the Club or third parties.
 
Opening of Club Premises
 
The Club is open between 8 a.m. and 10.p.m. on each day.
 
Membership
 
Membership of the Club shall be open to anyone regardless of sex, age, disability, ethnicity, nationality, sexual orientation, religion or other beliefs. The Management Committee may refuse membership, or remove it, only for good cause such as conduct or character likely to bring the Club or sport into disrepute.
 
Members below the age of 18 will not have the right to hold office or vote at general meetings.
 
Conditions of Membership
 
Each Member agrees as a condition of membership to be bound by and subject to the Club Rules and the Rules and regulations of the LTA and the LTA Disciplinary Code.           
 
The Management Committee may terminate the membership of any person, or impose any other sanction it determines to be appropriate, in connection with the breach of the conditions of membership.
 
Classes of Members
 
The following Memberships are available at the Club:
 
Basic Membership
Advanced Membership
 
Each membership shall be associated with a household not an individual, there being no limit to the number of members per household provided that each individual is a full-time resident at the relevant address. The lead Member registered with the Club shall inform the Club of the names and contact details of all household members who intend to participate in tennis at the Club.
 
Only the registered household lead Member shall be entitled to receive notice of, attend and vote at general meetings.
 
Basic Membership
 
Basic Members shall be entitled to:
 
Play unlimited tennis at the Club.
Book courts up to 2 days in advance.
Invite up to 2 guests per year.
Free membership of British Tennis and entry into the Wimbledon ballot. (British Tennis registration required).
 
 
Advanced Membership
 
Advanced Members shall be entitled to:
 
Play unlimited tennis at the Club.
Book courts up to 10 days in advance.
Invite up to 6 guests per year.
Participate in Club ‘mix-ins” free of charge.
Free membership of British Tennis and entry into the Wimbledon ballot. (British Tennis registration required).
Receive discounts on equipment from selected partners.
Receive discounts on Club social events.
 
Guests
 
The Member introducing a guest shall be responsible for ensuring that the guest complies with the Rules of the Club. Failure to do so could result in the Member being expelled from the Club.
 
Expulsion
 
The Management Committee shall have power to refuse membership or expel a Member only for good and sufficient cause, such as conduct or character likely to bring the Club or the Game into disrepute.
 
A Member shall be given 14 days' written notice of the meeting of the Management Committee at which their expulsion shall be considered and written details of the complaint made against them. They may appear before the Management Committee to answer complaints made against them. 
 
Resignation
 
A Member may withdraw from membership of the Club giving one month’s clear notice to the Club. 
 
Insurance
 
The Club is fully insured to carry out its activities via its affiliation to the LTA and its own insurance policy.
