FAQs
To help you understand our processes and policies, please read through our FAQs.
- Where do you coach?
We coach at Holland Park, Brook Green, Hurlingham Park, Eel Brook Common, and - occasionally - South Park. We also work with our partner schools. CourtFit, and our coaches, may not coach at any other location. - Do you offer prviate lesssons?
Not directly. Our coaches can do so independently at off-peak times. Lesson prices vary between venes and coaches so please discuss further with a member of the on-court team - How do I book an adult coaching course?
Adult courses with CourtFit are very popular, we're proud to offer a busy programme at our venues. All course bookings must be made online, new courses open for booking around 4 weeks before a new start date, and all courses run for 6 weeks. - How much does an adult coaching course cost?
A full 6-week course costs £99.00, the course reduces in price for late joiners. - How do I book a LTA Youth (junior) coaching course?
LTA Youth courses run on a termtime basis. Terms usually last for around 12 or 13 weeks skipping half term/easter holidays where instead, we run camps. Bookings tend to open around one-month prior to a start-date. We have 3 terms per year: Spring (January - April); Summer: (April - July); and Autumn (September - December). - What is ClubSpark, who are the LTA?
ClubSpark is a sports management technology company. We use them to manage all of our bookings/memberships. ClubSpark has a contract with the LTA, the governing body of tennis in the UK. We work closely with the LTA since we are a public provider as opposed to a private club. - Can I join an ongoing course?
Yes. However only if places are available online. The price proratas automatically so feel free to book in online if and when spaces on ongoing courses are available. - What do the playing levels mean?
There are 8 specific levels and four broad categories: beginner (0 - 2), improver (3 -4), intermediate (5 -6), and advanced (7).
Level 0 - Never played before or less than 6 hours of relevant on court experience.
Level 1 - New to tennis and just getting started.
Level 2 - Still a beginner, but you might have a couple of coaching blocks under your belt.
Level 3 - Welcome into the 'improver" category - you're now rallying from the baseline and hitting serves!
Level 4 - The rallies are getting longer and the serves are more consistent, you can hit 5/10 serves over and in.
Level 5 - You're adding different spins and power into your game.
Level 6 - You're now looking to play matches and tournaments and are hitting with power, variety, and precision.
Level 7 - Things to work on still, but you've got all the shots and play 3-5 times a week, tennis - and competing - are now a big part of your life. - Which court am I on at Holland Park?
The majority of our coaching takes place on courts 3,4,5, and 6 near the design museum, this is where all camps, children's courses, and most adult groups take place. Some evening adult classes take place on courts 1 & 2 which are located near the cafe. Please check your booking confirmation for further information, and if in doubt, head for courts 3,4,5, and 6 and chat with a coach. Very occasionally, court bookings may have changed at short notice. - When does my coaching pack expire?
When booking a coaching course, you sign-up to six specifc sessions, the dates of which are included online as well as in your booking confirmation. - What happens if I'm away?
As you're probably aware, we're very busy off and on the court, we, therefore, can't offer any make-up sessions for junior or adult courses, camps, or sessions. When signing up, you're booking specific dates! We try and price accordingly to factor in the fact that you may have to skip a class. - Can someone else attend in my place if I'm away?
Sadly not. This is problematic without player details or coach knowledge of the replacement's playing level. It doesn't work for our team so is not permitted. - Can I cancel my weekly session?
When it comes to coaching courses, the dates are locked in and we aren't able to offer any flexibility. However, a weekly recurring session class (such as drop-in coaching or cardio tennis) can be cancelled - and credit issued - if we receive more than 48 hrs notice within office hours (Monday - Friday 0900-1730). Any request later than this will be rejected. - Can I borrow a racket?
Yes. We have rackets on site for both children and adult players to borrow if needed. - Does my session go ahead in the rain?
Yes! We will always try and play on. If a red Met Office weather warning was in place, your session would be cancelled in line with the weather warning. All other cancellations will come from your coach. If the coach considers the playing surface unplayable or unsafe, an email will be sent to you letting you know the session is cancalled; this will come from your coach. Please don't email us asking if your session is on, if you haven't heard from us, the answer is yes. - What is a credit?
Credits are issued if your session is cancelled by a coach or CourtFit Ltd. Prior to February 2023, they could be redeemed via email. However, as of 16 February 2023, credits are now applied to your ClubSpark account to be redeemed at future online coaching bookings at the CourtFit venue from which the credit orgininates. - Do you offer refunds?
Only in the event of truly exceptional circumstances outlined in our full terms and conditions. Weather conditions do not trigger a refund. - What's the difference between a coaching course and weekly recurring session?
Courses are a pack of group lessons, usually sold as a block of 6. Weekly recurring sessions are dotted around our schedule at each venue and can be booked on a week-by-week basis. - What is CourtFit membership?
We run an internal membership programme for adult players. We have two packages, CourtFit Challenger and CourtFit Grand Slam. Please the membership page for more details. - Can I see your terms and condtions?
Yes, they're available here.
